Animal welfare principles
Grambogård’s farmers have to meet our fixed principles which guarantee that the welfare of the animals is paramount. What this means, in short, is that:
- The animals are free to wander about in their sheds, with fresh air and a new layer of straw every day. When they are inside, the animals always have access to deep straw bedding.
- The animals are able to eat and drink when they want to.
- The farmer works with our butcher to determine the feed, which can be adjusted depending on the season and the health of the animals.
- Grambogård’s farms are situated as close as possible to the slaughterhouse, ensuring short transportation times for the animals.
The animals are monitored by designated members of Grambogård staff during the fattening period.
