At Grambogård, we put a great deal of effort into experimenting with different types of livestock farming with a view to developing the taste of the animals. Our highly successful healthy herb-fed pigs and happy apple-fed pigs are prime examples of this.
We also experiment with letting the animals roam on different types of terrain, where their natural feed is shaped by the landscape and geographical features. However, the starting point in all cases is taking care of the interests of the animal – and we do not sell the meat until the taste is exactly right.
At the moment, we are experimenting with woodland calves which roam among trees and bushes; right now, the meat is very tasty, but not quite as tender, because the animals develop very strong muscles from all the exercise they get!
